Making jewellery is one of my passions and I have been doing it now for 25 years.
With no formal training and a lot of trials and errors, I've learned the hard way how to make jewellery that I am proud to put my name on.
I first started making jewellery in the mid 80's when I stumbled upon a bead store in Toronto on my lunch break. I went in and was amazed that I could make a pair of earring in less than 30 minutes and wear them back to work. I was so impressed I bought my first tool and supplies, I haven't stopped since.
Since that first day, I have learned many techniques and skills needed to produce my style of jewellery. I love to use semi-precious stones and sterling silver mixed with glass, pearls, wood and any material that I trip over. Lately wire wrapping and using leather has been of interest to me, so look out for some interesting pieces in the near future.
For those who are allergic to copper and nickel, I use sterling silver, silver and gold plate, vermeil (gilded silver, bronze, or copper) and nickel free base metals on all my pieces.
